Something went wrong.

I’m always open to suggestions for people and businesses that I can write about. This week in particular, my friend Tyra (Happy Birthday, Love!) sent me a message about Travel Buddy Ja. Curiously, I gave it a check to see what it was abut – after all, most of us love to travel, but it’s a fact that even less of us hardly ever take the initiative to explore our own country. I went on Instagram and found that that it was “a service aimed at providing company and transportation for women who want to explore Jamaica solo or in groups of up to 4.”

I asked Tyra about her feedback regarding her trip. She said, “I loved it…no discomfort, no cat-calling troubles, just absolute fun and tranquility. I felt so confident throughout because the upliftment was real. I also appreciate that the trips are solely catered to women who wanna explore alone or in small groups. The owner is also an advocate, speaking out against violence against women”.

It seems, therefore, that this service is the definition of helping another queen to fix her crown. Travelling in nature is one of the best ways to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. The major issues with travelling, however, are that women can constantly face harassment and abuse whenever they are in public; if they’re unfortunate enough, then it can even be found in the (dis)comfort of their own homes. After hearing such a great review, this is a service I would definitely have to recommend.

One glance at the IG page will show you that there have been a number of trips to a variety of places. Among the destinations listed are Puerto Seco, Konoko Falls, Black River, Appleton Estate, Worthy Park, Holywell, Ochi River, Strawberry Fields, Castleton Gardens, Green Grotto Caves, Blue and John Crow Mountains, Pelican Bar, and the list definitely goes on; Jamaica is full of many wonderful locations where you can refresh yourself.

This wonderful service is provided by Njari Ifenyah, and her customer service abilities at a glance are excellent. She posts notable and important information, encouragement for viewers and even great recipes for feeling and looking better. For instance, she provides the steps for an oatmeal facial: “Combine ½ cup warm water and 1/3 cup oatmeal. Let that sit for two to three minutes, then mix in 2 tablespoons honey and 1 small egg white. Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse with warm water and wallah! Bright and fresh skin. Thank me later!”

Before the year ends, there are actually three trips that are being promoted right now that you can place bookings for. The first one is set for December 12, with the destination being Yallahs Falls and Pelican Bar. The next is for December 19 to Somerset Falls, Blue Lagoon and Monkey Island. The last trip of the year is set for December 27, and the locations will be an ATV Mountain Experience with Campbelton Mountain Adventures, and a trip to Puerto Seco Beach Park.

Want to experience local travelling for women? Then this is definitely the service for you!
