Something went wrong.
Have you ever had those days when you are at home doing nothing? Chores are done, the kitchen is stocked, the tasks for the day are completed and your brain seems to be wandering over the place? The TV seems uninteresting and even more suspicious, the internet is crazy so that’s a dead end as well? This is one example of what is meant when the term, I’m bored out my mind is used.
If you’ve ever encountered that situation, know that you are not the only one. Nothing seems interesting as they once would and that is ok.
It may be time for you to go outside and live a little. Even introverts know that as much we prefer solitude we do need step outside of our walls and explore outside a little bit.
Let us consider some activities we can get involved in if we find ourselves going crazy indoors:
- Mani-Pedi – Sometimes it’s not even about the artwork itself but of the environment. It’s the feeling of us pampering ourselves and seeing life from a different perspective for a minute. The feeling of someone else taking care of us for a day instead of the other way around. Not to mention how great how skin and nails look and feel afterward.
- Cooking – There are millions of recipes that are out there that you haven’t tried. Sauces, meats, veggies that are just begging for you to consume them. Some describe cooking as a stress reliever, something about punching that dough or making that pasta makes us feel alive. Personally, seasoning the food is the best part. The quietness of the surroundings leads to peace in my brain and that makes me feel calm and focused on the task being performed at hand.
- Take a Bath – Get some bath bombs, bubble bath, candles, air fresheners, bath salts, and wine, and forget about the world and its problems. Taking a bath is one of the best self-care routines that is affordable and leaves you feeling luxurious. The time passes so quickly and not only does the warm water aid blood in flowing freely but Pentucket Medical stated a few ways in which it is scientifically proven that taking a bath as health benefits. These include: improving heart health, calm your brain and nervous system, balance your hormones, and help you breathe easier.
- Go for a walk – Walking around proves to be therapeutic for many. Seeing new faces, nature, and other things that are happening outside of your walls always seem to spark creativity even in the idlest minds.
In conclusion, the next time you are bored out of your mind considering getting a mani-pedi, try a new recipe, talk a bath, or go for a walk. Not only will these spark creativity and relieve boredom but these activities are good for your mental and emotional health.
