Iberostar International in the Caribbean, with hotels in Mexico, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and now Jamaica invites applications from qualified candidates to fill the following position in their Kitchen Department:

Executive Chef



Minimum five (5) years’ working experience in leading restaurants/hotels, nationwide & internationally in relevant disciplines i.e Italian & Continental cuisines and bakery specialties.

Must be able to upgrade the kitchen operations, creating new menus & presenting varying top food quality and innovations in recipes of different food items.


The incumbent must also be able to:

Communicate effectively at all levels

Implement innovative ideas

Have charismatic leadership style and the ability to train all levels within the Kitchen

Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferably

Must have a valid food handler’s permit


Duties & Responsibilities

To monitor and maintain consistent food standards and quality across all areas and during all stages of production and supply.

To participate in the HACCP procedure according to the company’s Food Safety Management document.

To maintain the correct use of the cleaning rota and closing down procedures.

To ensure quality control measures and hygiene systems are achieved at all times.

To have total accountability for the day to day running of the kitchen service measures and hygiene systems are achieved at all times.

Train and coach staff on guest services principles.
